This life and world we live in

As war rages in the middle east politicians sling mud in the west. As people struggle to recover from a hurricane in the south the president is doing his personal relations campaign in Washington. As the wealthy look for more tax shelters the homeless use card board boxes as their shelters. No one said life was going to be fair, But some reason I just don’t seem to understand why it has to be so unfair. Though there are those out there trying to make a difference in the world, there are so many who would rather not see any change. As the ice caps melt the world fights over if mankind is responsible for it happening or not. Hmm.. Who cares who caused the problem, its obvious we can slow the damage and maybe even find ways to reverse it if we were to try. Sometimes the important things get pushed aside for the sake of ego and wealth a little too much in this modern world. Mankind’s biggest enemies are greed and vanity. But then Mankind’s greatest strengths are compassion and the ability to pull together in times of crisis. As I condemn mankind I am celebrating mankind’s abilities and achievements. I condemn even myself as much as I recognize my potential. It’s all just one big merry go round, this life and world we live in.

Be true to yourself

To be true to ones self is to not only see the faults within yourself but also to see the goodness within. Faults are not a bad thing if you recognize them and learn to overcome or suppress them. To dwell on the mistakes you make and the faults you have is to only hinder your emotional and spiritual growth. To Realize that you are not the only human to have faults and that others have the same if not similar faults is to see that you are not as bad as you may believe. Those who seem to cling to the mistakes and dwell on their faults also seem to have an issue with self esteem and/or self worth. The greatest fault one can have is to make the faults they have the center of their life. Learn from mistakes and grow and overcome the faults. Take the better parts of who you are and focus on them. Life is a wondrous gift and we can either enjoy it or criticize all its shortcoming and miss out on life it self. Everyone has beauty, wisdom, talents and love within, no one is better or worse than another. We all have different talents and abilities from each other and this was made so that mankind can survive in a group. Without being a social species we would have probably died out ages ago. Basically we all are pieces of a whole race and each of us are required to make it work. Do not give in to depression or into self abuse. Seek help if you can not overcome them on your own. To seek help is to be smart enough to realize you are only human and need help from time to time. Be true to yourself and love yourself as much as you love others. Be the best you can be and live life instead of just existing.

Intelligence and will power

Looking to the past you have to admire the human race. Look at some of the marvels of historical architecture. The Great Pyramids for  one. It still baffles even modern science of how they constructed such a large and precise monument without modern technologies. Even with the technologies we posses it would be a very hard monument to replicate. To think men armed with ropes, pulleys made of wood and ramps may have built the pyramids. So many theories but still it is amazing what man has done. Then there is Stonhenge that is another wondrous monument built by very primitive man. Its amazing in its self how they even moved such large blocks of stone across so many miles from the quarry to the construction site. Then lifting them with man power and levers and god knows what else. This goes to show you that mankind is capable of the impossible when he uses his intelligence and his will power. Only if we would use those things to make this a better world then all would be well. I guess eventually man will even overcome all his adversities through his will and intellect. At least we all can hope so.

Man, The jewel and the thorn

From birth we struggle to adapt and survive. We learn to walk, talk, reason and adapt. As we grow we learn that we can also adapt the environment to our needs. First we adapt it for survival in the form of our home. Then we adapt the environment of the home for comfort with air conditioning and heat. We create light to over come the darkness of night. Humans are the only creature that will adapt the world to suit himself. All other creatures either adapt themselves or seek better environments that suit them. Though we may not be the only species that utilizes tools, we are the only ones to use the tools to make machines and technologies. The odds for one species to develop and advance as far as mankind has are very slim. According to scientists the odds of having life on earth were also very slim. Mankind is a jewel in the naval of the planet earth, but we also are the thorn in its side. The more we advance the more we abuse the lush and wonderful home we have. Eventually our technologies may become less toxic to our home but will that happen soon enough? Mankind has many challenges facing him in the future. We will have to improve our technologies, overcome fear and prejudice and learn to work together. Seems even though we have came along way technologically we seem to have a lack of growth in our Psychology. Though we have improved our intelligence we still are slaves to our instincts and emotions. Maybe one day we will be the masters of both but till then all we can do is try to do the best we can.

Global Warming

The Earth flag is not an official flag, since ...

Image via Wikipedia

Don’t you just love how the government officials and scientists argue over the point that if mankind has contributed to the recent warming of the earth. How can anyone stand there and say that all the carbon monoxide/dioxide,methane gas and other pollutants we pump into our atmosphere is not doing any harm to the earths ecosystem. Regardless of how little or how much we influence the ecosystem should not be a debate. I think we should strive to be more earth friendly due to the fact that the children of today and their children will see the impact of our decisions and the results of our influence that we have on the ecosystem. Most of the arguments about if or if not we should be more green oriented in the world is pretty much being fought due to the issue of the cost of going green. The way I look at it is the benefits down the road will far out weigh the costs. For one thing America can once again be independent in the area of energy including the area of transportation. The oil Giants will have to adapt to survive. Eventually the combustion engine will be a thing of the past and new technologies will arise along with the need of some sort of energy to make them work. At this time it looks like it may be Hydrogen fuel cells and I see no reason why the big oil companies couldn’t start investing in the development of technologies that relate to the hydrogen fuel cells. They can also develop a more efficient way of extracting hydrogen from water. Either way we were blessed with life and a planet to live on. We should take responsibility for our home called earth.

On the first day

On the first day, God created the dog and said:

"Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."

The dog said: "That’s a long time to be barking? How about only ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten?"

So God agreed.

On the second day, God created the monkey and said:

"Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I’ll give you a twenty-year life span."

The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That’s a pretty long time to act. How about I give you back ten like the Dog?"

And God agreed.

On the third day, God created the cow and said:

"You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer’s family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty years."

The cow said: "That’s a tough life to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I’ll give back the other forty?"

And God agreed again.

On the fourth day, God created man and said:

"Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I’ll give you twenty years."

But man said: "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog returned? That makes eighty, okay?"

"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."

So this is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

Three Things

 Another one from my dad..

Three things in life that, once gone, never come back –
1. Time
2. Words
3. Opportunity
`
Three things in life that can destroy a person –
1. Anger
2. Pride
3. Unforgiveness
`
Three things in life that you should never lose-
1. Hope
2. Peace
3. Honesty
`
Three things in life that are most valuable

1. Love
2. Family & Friends
3. Kindness
`
Three things in life that are never certain -

1. Fortune
2. Success
3. Dreams
`
Three things that make a person –
1. Commitment
2. Sincerity
3. Hard work
`
Three things that are truly constant – Father – Son – Holy Spirit I ask
the Lord to bless you, as I pray for you today; to guide you and protect
you, as you go along your way. God’s love is always with you, God’s
promises are true. And when you give God all your cares, you know God
will see you through.
Pass this along to People you want God to Bless – I just did!

PIN NUMBER REVERSAL

Got a email from my dad I don’t know if this is true but its worth telling you all about it.. If anyone knows this is true or not let me know.

If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to the robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you. This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don’t know it exists.

One for the ladies

Ok I do not Support Male Bashing Because I am a man  But you got to laugh at a few of these….

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to wash his Sweat shirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room, he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the washing machine?" "It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your shirt?" He yelled back, "University of Oklahoma."  And they say blondes are dumb…

A couple is lying in bed. The man says, "I am going to make you the happiest woman in the world." The woman replies, "I’ll miss you…"

"It’s just too hot to wear clothes today," Jack says as he stepped out of the shower, "honey, what do you think the neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn like this?" "Probably that I married you for your money," she replied.

He said – Shall we try swapping positions tonight? She said That’s a good idea… you stand by the ironing board while I sit on the sofa and fart.

Q: What do you call an intelligent, good looking, sensitive man?
A: A rumor

A man and his wife, now in their 60′s, were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. On their special day a good fairy came to them and said that because they had been so good that each one of them could have one wish.  The wife wished for a trip around the world with her husband. Whoosh! Immediately she had airline/cruise tickets in her hands. The man wished for a female companion 30 years younger…Whoosh…immediately he turned ninety!!! Gotta love that fairy!

Dear Lord,  I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; And Patience for his moods. Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength, I’ll beat him to death.

AMEN

Q: Why do little boys whine?
A: They are practicing to be men.

Q: What do you call a handcuffed man?
A: Trustworthy.

Q: What does it mean when a man is in your bed gasping for breath and calling your name?
A: You did not hold the pillow down long enough.

Q: Why do men whistle when they are sitting on the toilet?
A: It helps them remember which end they need to wipe.

Q: How do you keep your husband from reading your e-mail?
A: Rename the mail folder "Instruction Manuals"

Thanks goes out to my Step Mother Mary for this funny email.
