We can either simply exist in our life or live our life to the fullest. We can walk through our life looking back or looking forward. We can carry the burdens of our past or shrug them off and live in the here and now. What has been is long gone, what will be has not yet come and what is now will be what was soon enough. We can live our life worrying about how and when we may die or we can live each moment as if it were our last. We can cherish the here and now, we can love one another as if we may not meet again.
We can choose to live in sorrow, regret and in fear or we can choose to live in happiness with love and compassion as our guide. We have the power to choose our path in life and for the most part we can choose our destiny as well. We are the masters of our own life and we have the power to choose how we live it. The choice to be happy, to be loved or not is within our own hands and no one else’s. How others affect us is also a choice we have, for we can either react to others or act upon the actions of others. All of this comes with the gift of freewill, and so does the responsibility of how we affect others.
Live life being who you are to the fullest and let no one lead you astray from living in the now. Give up your fear to God and embrace the hope, faith and sound mind he has given us all. Live not by the sword but by your heart, walk not by sight but by faith and give thanks for all you have been given and that you have not yet received.
Mankind’s worst enemies are fear and the ignorance that it feeds.
On the road of life we will have both good times and some not so good, it is part of life and the contrast between the two helps us appreciate the blessings we have. We may no be able to avoid all the pain, suffering and adversities of life but we can learn to get through them with the love and support of family and friends. The challenges of life are but the character building experiences we go through and hopefully overcome. To smile while your world seems to be falling apart may be odd but between faith and the fact there are things we can not change or avoid we can either let them keep us from happiness or rise above them and smile. Acceptance of our shortcomings and inability to control every aspect of life is something we must learn to do . When you accept the fact some things are not in your control you learn to let go of all the guilt and pain related to those things.
Besides accepting those things we can not change we also need to be aware of the things we can and change them for the better. We are responsible for the things that are within our grasp to change. Our destiny is within our own hands and the choices we make daily is what guides us to our fate. Though some external force can alter your life course but you can choose to change it back as well. We can either walk a path of our own choosing or allow others to choose it for us. Either way we are solely responsible for the path we choose and all we do in life. The choice to choose or not is ours and the way we interact with others is our responsibility. In the end we all have to face the results of our choices in life, we all will be held accountable for all we do. This is why you should be sincerely remorseful for the wrongs you done and seek forgiveness and through compassion we should freely give forgiveness to others. It is the right thing to do.
On this road of life we must make the best choices we can and be compassionate along the way. We should be quick to listen to advice and open to share it as well. But remember the advice you give you are responsible for and should think twice before giving it out. Always be sure of what you say for the power of words can do much harm as it can good. The power of thought as well can do great good but is capable of great evil as well.
Be aware of your thoughts and words and the consequences they can bring.
Life is such a short journey, we seem to forget that fact for most of the way through our lives. We seem to waste so much time over petty arguments and in the pursuit of temporary happiness we get from wealth and possessions. In the end all the wealth, money, fame and power we obtain becomes dust in the wind and objects of folly. The relationships we had made throughout our lives and how we lived our life seems to be the only things that are important in the end. All those disagreements we had seem to mean nothing and all the toys we gathered no longer luster. I have noticed the older I get the more I reflect on my life and reminisce about the friends and family I was blessed to have and know in my life. Any anger or hurt I may have received from others in my past no longer has a hold on me and is forgotten. The hurt and wrongs I have done to others remain only to remind me that I am far from perfect and to remind me not to repeat the same mistakes.
If I could go back in time and talk to myself I would try to get myself to realize that if you love yourself and have faith everything will work out. I would also teach myself to embrace the spirit of happiness and hope while rejecting the ever so present spirit of fear. Live life to the fullest and have no fear of failure because to fear failure usually leads to not trying at all. So much I probably missed out in my life because I was either afraid to try or I didn’t believe I deserved to be happy. And the final thing I would tell myself is learn to forgive yourself and learn from your past.
Well unfortunately or maybe fortunately there is no way for us to go back in time and talk to the younger versions of our selves. So maybe someone will read this post and see the wisdom in some of its advice and avoid some of the pitfalls I befell in my lifetime. Though I can not go back I can go forward and live life to the fullest till my path in life comes to an end.
There is no better time than the present to make a change in your life.
Living in a society where there is no value to anything, where we want everything and want it yesterday. Sensations both old and new are the fuel and the faster we can get them the more we want them. Addicted to our senses and a slave to our need for stimuli we race forward without taking the time to truly enjoy the world around us. We leave friendships and loves behind us in search of the perfect life, we fall to the deception that is such a thing as a perfect life or a perfect relationship. Too much too fast and we are approaching either an overload or the tragic end to our fast past world. So quick to judge others but slow to see the imperfections in our own lives. We live our lives so quickly and so unaware of the happiness we could obtain as well as the beauty all around us.
Even the children are loosing their innocence way too early, imagination is becoming an extinct quality as well as the ability to see the world in its true majestic form. We allow politics, religions and philosophies to divide our world and keep us from reaching our true potential as a species. It is not our differences that makes us unstable or weak, it is our inability to use those differences as the strength they really are. Our ability to change, adapt and to exchange ideas makes us a very unique and wondrous species. Our lack of tolerance and our inability to truly see each other in a compassionate light leaves us in constant turmoil. We need to start looking at the world not only through our own eyes but through the eyes of others, we must start being more selfless in the way we think and live. Individuality is a good thing but not seeing the whole picture due to only perceiving things though our own eyes is a path to eventual destruction. We must realize that our personal perception of the world around us is not the only true perception. Reality is the sum of every living creature’s perception of the physical universe.
We need to slow down and smell the flowers, behold the beauty of nature and enjoy the company we are blessed to keep. For if we keep on forging into the future like a speeding bullet we will eventually burn out. Stand as many but as one, seek out the truth of all things and live each day as it may be our last. Loving ourselves and all that is around us, fearing nothing but our own deception. Do right upon others and forgive those who are not wise enough to see the error in their ways. We also should remember to forgive our own short comings for we are all but human. But being human is a grand thing for we are children of the great creator. God gave us life and that in itself makes us special and unique. Each of us were given gifts and abilities, each different from the other but the same in their purpose. We mustn’t waste those gifts not take them for granted. We should use them for the good of mankind and share them with all life.
