So be conscious of your actions

IMG_1387You can walk the path of life as a part of the solutions needed or as a part of the problems that need to be solved. You can either be actively good, creative and peaceful or you can be the monkey wrench in the machine of life. This is all in your hands, the choice to be a beneficial  or to be a negative  part of the world we live in. You can even be neutral, but that makes your existence mute and that is something no one wants. You are the one hat chooses what path you walk in life and how you interact and react to the world you live in. No one can force you to do what you do not want to do unless you give them permission or the power to do so. So all of your actions and reactions are your sole responsibility and the wages that they reap. So be conscious of your actions, words and reactions and the power they carry for everything has its price and its rewards.

Jesus tried to teach us this and that we should be peaceful, caring and compassionate people. Just think if everyone where to learn how to turn the other cheek, forgive one another and love each other without condition. If people would put their, selfishness, fear, lack of understanding behind them and learned to work together for a better world. So much could humanity do in such a state, so far we could progress and grow if we were to put the ways of  selfishness, fear and greed behind us. Only if we all could respect the right of others to think, believe and live differently than ourselves and accept one another unconditionally.

The real sad part is that humanity has the potential to be such a wondrous and amazing species if we could just emotionally and spiritually grow up enough to work together as the great family we are.

May God grant you peace, understanding and the wisdom to use the gifts he has given you.

How we influence the world around us.

062 The words you speak and the actions you take are the things which you will be remembered for when you are gone. All the good intentions in your heart can not be fruitful unless they become action or words. Words can sway the hearts of those around you and actions can be the proof of your heartfelt words you speak. Change comes from within yourself and then it begins affecting all of those who you connect with. In life we are forever learning and changing as we strive towards what we see as a better way to live. We are influenced by the company we keep and we influence them as well. How we influence and/or affect others is all up to how we choose to behave, believe and interact with the world around us.

We should try to live a good life, treat others with kindness and compassion and be an example for others to follow. Each one of us are responsible for our actions, words and how we influence the world around us. We should keep that fact in mind as we walk our path in life, for we do have a price to pay for our freewill. To be humble, kind, compassionate and full of patience is the best way to travel the path of life we walk. For too much emphasis on the self leaves one open to the possibility of vanity, selfishness and greed. Such things eventually consume the person whom embraces them and it usually leads to a lonely life.

We should never be critical towards anyone for their choice of how they wish to live and interact with the world because they are simply exercising their right to freewill. Madmen in places of power whom bring suffering to the masses put their own lives at risk and are subject to the dangers of warfare and assassination. It is far wiser to be a leader who is just, kind and compassionate towards his people. For a king who is loved by his people is a king who will rule in peace and a ruler who will be blessed for his kindness.

Maybe if everyone thought about how they affect others as well as themselves before they speak and take action, the world may become a better place to live in. If more put the welfare of others above their own wants and desires, the less we would see people in need.

We would find ourselves living in a better world.

PEACE!

Regardless of our religion, nationality or political views we have been brought up on we all as human beings desire to make a better tomorrow for the children of this world. Only if we can get around all the prejudice, pride and greed of this world we could create a better world for all to live in.  Only if we could defeat fear and learn tolerance for the differences between us all. Only if we could see what is really important in this world, The children are our hope and our future. Why can’t we just accept and love one another unconditionally, why does our differences in religion, color or nationality make any difference in our ability to be friends?

Respect for our fellow humans and the compassion to accept others is what we must learn to have. If our world is ever to achieve peace and  continue to survive , we need to let go of the mistrust and the fear .  Just think if we spent half the money we do on defense on feeding, housing the less fortunate or investing it in furthering green technologies we would find ourselves living in a better world. Acts of kindness, compassion and acts of love can create a positive change in our world. There may be no profit in being kindhearted, compassionate or charitable, but it helps create us a better world to live in. Though I am not a supporter of a one world government I do support the idea of  global co-operation.

We all have to live in this world, we all should be civilized enough to do so in peace and be compassionate enough to co-operate to create a better world for us and the future generations to live in.

The World, The web and a needed change

MP900289198The world is connected by a spider’s web of communication, information and all the junk that comes with such a large social connection. There are no more borders between the people or barriers between the cultures of our world. Yet governments still fight over imaginary lines on a map and the resources that they consider critical. Only if the governments could learn from the people and start looking beyond the illusions of separation and tolerate the differences between us all they might be able to pull together to find peaceful solutions to the problems this world faces as a whole. I am not promoting one world government, I think that would be a bad idea due to the ability of one person controlling everything. But I do support the idea of one world co-operation for the betterment of our world for everyone. The promotion of peace, compassion and the acceptance of our differences as an asset instead of a hindrance. So many of the problems we face in the modern world has been with us for such a long time, so many grudges between nations, Peoples and belief systems that have been amplifying through so many generations. It is so hard to try to fight against such anger and fear when it so embedded in the core of a groups beliefs. Trying to convince those who been raised to hate to see that there is hope and that people change individually as well as in multitudes.

MP900444203We have so many tools at our disposal as citizens of the information age to share our cultural differences as well as to become a more peaceful world. The internet with all its tools at our fingertips that can help spread a peaceful mentality as well as gathering together as a world to deal with the issues we are facing in modern times. We as a species have such great potential and yet we cling on to negative ideas and beliefs and hold ourselves back from our destiny. We can become the great caretakers of our world and explorers of our vast universe. World hunger, water shortages, disease and the disregard for life can be things of the past if only we can grow enough to except each other as we are and co-operate on a global level for the good of our world. Seems sad we still hold on to prejudices and hatreds that have plagued us since the dawn of civilization. We need to grow up as a species and take responsibility for the crimes we have committed towards our planet and all life that lives upon it. Take responsibility and begin healing the wounds we inflicted on our world as well as the hurt we caused to our fellow humans and animals alike. We need to get past our lust of money, power and the fear of the unknown.

MP900437376The future of our world and our species is in our hands and we should take life and all that is in it seriously. Not only this generation of humans are in danger by our current path, so are the many generations being born today and those that will follow.  We can let them inherit the mess of ours along with the aftermath of the problems from the generations before ours or we can step up to the plate and try to fix the problems we face today. Some of the choices we will have to make will be hard and will require sacrifices that we may not like but it is something we will have to do in order to change our future into  something our grandchildren can live in as well as enjoy.

We are the architects of the future and the students of the past.

Ramblings of a Middle Aged Average Joe

007-2 Social Unrest in the Middle East and North Africa, Earthquakes, Tsunamis and threat of an nuclear meltdown in Japan. Anchovies and sardines dying is the millions in a San Francisco harbor. The honey bee population dwindling and still no explanation as of why they are dying off. Something seems out of balance, change is coming to our world and it isn’t looking too good to me. Change is unavoidable and paying for our neglect / disrespect towards our home plant earth. Greed and lust for power outweighs the welfare of mother earth and those who live on it. The Select or Elite rule our world and care little about anything but their own gain while the masses stand by watching it all fall to pieces before them.

Violence is not the way for change though it is an unfortunate reality in our world. War and violence is a necessary evil at times to keep the balance in our world. Peace, love, understanding and cooperation are the best ways to enact change. Also Truth is a great igniter of change, for knowledge and truth are the building stones for a better world. The fact we all are responsible for this world we live in and we must find better ways to do so. Better ways to generate electricity and an alternative to Oil.

Oil, coal and natural gas will eventually become depleted and the pollution from their use will further damage our environment and also our economy. The world needs to wake up and see the wisdom in both renewable fuel sources and power sources like solar wind and hydro. Our children and grandchildren have to live in this world we leave them, so we should try to leave them with a Ecofriendly and wiser world. The fact that eventually oil sources will become scarce and depleted brings to light we need to have an alternative fuel source to avoid possible wars over the dwindling supply.

There is so much we need to change in the world and in the way we both view and live in it. It is going to take the effort of governments, businesses and the civilian  population to make the changes needed to get our world on the right track. There will have to be some sacrifices in the process but so many benefits will be found along the way. Nothing of great value is ever gained without hard work and sacrifice, Neither does any good deed done go without an award in the end. Even if our labor and sacrifices don’t bring forth fruit until several generations it will still be worth the effort.

The good thing about truth, love, peace, understanding and change is that they all can start in one person.  Just like one seed can grow a orchard if not a forest  , one persons voice can become a nations or even the worlds in time.

Well enough of my tree hugging ramblings for now.
Peace to all

Just some babbling about the self and happiness

014 I often have wondered what is the secret to a happy life and for the most part the answers seemed to change with each situation I experienced during the course of my life. So needles to say the answers I thought were correct were just reflections or shadows of the true secret. The real question is if there is a secret to living a happy life or not. Obviously no one can be happy 100% of the time and I am not even sure that only one secret or answer could be found to the question.  The main thing I have learned is one must let go of the prioritization of the self and its desires. The self is the most time and resource consuming part of being a sentient being. Since the self must exist in order for one to be self aware / sentient then we must learn to restrain its ever present demanding voice.

The tendency for humans to be selfish and self centered is basically a natural part of our psyche and though it can not be totally avoided it can be muffled or muted. Therefore Discipline of the mind is also one of the secrets of a happy life, for without mental discipline the self would become center of all and selfishness would be the main controlling factor in our daily lives. To sustain the self and to take care of its needs is something we must do, but to fulfill its wants and desires is something we can all together control or avoid. The self  usually is like a little child who is spoiled and gets all he or she wants with no restriction. In a disciplined mind the self learns that not all it wants will be fulfilled and that there is higher priorities that must be focused on.

Having concern for the welfare of others seems to be somewhat instinctual to most humans though I have noticed a few people who seem to have no concern for others. This is probably because they allow the self to take high priority to the point of selfishness and become apathetic to the concerns of things that are not of any benefit to themselves. For most of us though the welfare of others usually plays at least a small part in our lives if not a major one. Being social creatures that seem to group up to survive and thrive makes the welfare of others a necessity in maintaining the group.

Maybe a lot of the problem in modern society is that not everyone has a social place, there is a lot of people who are just transient social outcasts. People that are either not accepted by the social circles of modern society or who never could find where they belong. Without purpose socially they seem to either become a social ostrich or turtle by hiding their head in the sand and or retracting into their protective shell. This makes them feel unwanted or unneeded so they float from one social circle to the other having no purpose or destination.

So I guess the secret to happiness is to find your place in society and be needed as well as being satisfied with what blessing you have. To care for others and put the self second to the more important things of life. Maybe there really isn’t no real secret or just one formula to happiness, maybe the secret is to find your own path to walk.

Well enough of my truly random thoughts and babbling

Peace

One person could start a change in the world

100_0063

Most people would like to change the world in one way or another. The only way to enact change on a large scale one must start with their own selves and start a chain reaction. To change the world we live in is really to change the opinions and beliefs of those who live in it. How can one person get everyone to change their opinions and beliefs? Well One person is all it takes to start a chain reaction of change, look at the 60’s in America how just a few spawned the hippie movement. Look how cults form under the ideas of one person and grow to become large communities such as Waco Texas and the Jim Jones  following. Though these may be negative examples of change , they prove that just one or a few can influence the many.

In a Technological information age as ours the power of one voice can influence a world of people in just seconds if not minutes. Television, Radio and internet are great tools to educate and get your message out to the public. Through these mediums you can either influence others for the good or the bad. Even with such great tools at ones fingertips you must be a leader and be one who leads by example to get others to acknowledge your ideas and philosophy. So start the change in yourself, show others the results and live by your philosophies / beliefs. As the old saying goes the proof is in the pudding, if you cant live by what you preach no one will believe or accept your ideals.

I mean would you follow a man who preaches love and peace while he murders people in the name of his philosophy or religion? Or would you stay at a church where its preacher who breaks every commandment while proclaiming he is either pure or innocent? I wouldn’t follow or believe in either of them, if you can not live by your beliefs and try to follow the rules of your philosophy then why should anyone else. This of course is not saying any preacher or leader will never fall or fail at times for we are all human and prone to make mistakes. With ones actions and freewill is a price we all must pay. The price is responsibility of our own actions and or choices we make. Even the words we speak are our responsibility, for if you mislead someone to their harm or to their disgrace you are responsible for that harm or disgrace.

So one person could start a change in the world and the world could change by the actions and words of one person. One person can change themselves and by doing so influence the change in others around them.

Enough of my Babble and Ramble Thoughts.

Peace and Wisdom be the Prize you seek

A Fish Bowl Universe

A giant grouper at the Georgia Aquarium, seen ...

Image via Wikipedia

Sometimes I get caught up in my little fish bowl of a universe and forget there are countless other little fish bowls out there that make up the ocean of life. It is so easy to focus only on your little world and be unaware of all the things that surround you. We are all like little boats floating in a vast sea of time all connected by the common thread of life. We see ourselves as individual and separate from the other boats floating around us, but we are all connected and effect each other in many various ways. Every action we take can effect the world around us along with the people in it.

This is the main reasons most religions try to teach compassion, Love, charity and understanding. For if we learn to live by those principles we will effect others in a positive way. Also if you treat someone with respect and show them compassion it is more than likely they too will treat others including yourself with the same. Of course there are exceptions to the rule and may be those who will never have or show compassion for themselves or others. Those people will never find any happiness or peace in their lifetime. Even to those type of people you should be understanding and be compassionate for that person could have been you at one time in your life.

I try to look at lost souls like that in the sense that I could have as easily been as cold or hard hearted as they are if the circumstances of my life would have been different. So in a way I look at them in the sense that there is a little of that type of person in me. Accepting them and showing compassion towards such people also teaches me to have compassion on myself and forgiveness for my own short comings.

The world look so small and simple when you keep focused on nothing but your own little fish bowl. If you look outside your little universe you will see that it is quite a large world we all interact with. It also makes one realize their fish bowl is just a illusion and that we are all part of something amazingly vast and extraordinary. The only limits we have personally and spiritually are the one we have created and or imposed upon ourselves.

Well Enough of My Rambling For Now

The more you love the more you will be loved back.

"Ai," the traditional Chinese charac...

Image via Wikipedia

The path of love and the path of peace run parallel and are like two lovers walking the path of life. One can not Thrive without the other, for love needs peace to flourish and peace can not be found without love being the sower of the seed. For love spreads the seeds of understanding, peace and life itself. Love creates from its own self, it is the source of life and the healer of sickness. True love can not be destroyed only transformed and it will not be denied. Love is selfless yet it is of the self, it has no boundaries and it knows no prejudice. Love embraces every walk of life and cares not of who or what one may be.

Love is the source as well as the prize set before us all. To know love and to be of love is the ultimate goal of mankind. Though Mankind is yet young and childish and is blind to love’s greatness. Some are even blind to love’s existence and they cling onto a selfish and aimless path in life.  So try and seek out love when you can ,share love with everyone who you may meet and let love be your guide on life’s path. For the more you love the more you will be loved back.

Peace And Love to All
