You can’t please everybody

Admit it or not, at some point of our lives, we tried to please someone. of course, there are a lot of reason why. First, to fit in the environment. Second, to be accepted. And third, to be loved or to be liked. However, reality tell us that you can’t please everyone no matter how hard you try.

Some will like you, love you, but on the other hand, some will hate you or to extent loathe you. But  remember, we can still be happy, even someone doesn’t like us. Hating someone isn’t healthy and should not be an attitude of a person.

I remember doing everything just to be loved by everyone. Doing good,  and making people laugh. I was really making a great effort just to be loved. To the point of sacrificing my own happiness, so that people on my environment would not judge or criticize me. I was afraid to hear criticism against me, if I did wrong.

But at the end of the day, God taught me of becoming a better person from the painful and heartbreaking words that I have heard. You can’t really please everybody and you should not change who you are just to be loved. So the most important is being yourself. Just be yourself.

The really sad thing is that those that are the haters are really captive to a prison of their own making. Bitterness is at the root of their hate and it just seems that these bars of bitterness will never allow the war to end. It is ironic that the one who hates and holds bitterness hostage is really the most miserable of all. My dad always told me that it is really hard to be mad at someone who is not mad at you. I have learned that is a true statement. Even when there are hurtful things said about me or someone just can’t stand me for whatever reason, I always try to still be nice to them and never react to their venom. That is what they want you know, a reaction from you to give more fuel to the fire of their self imposed war. Instead, forgive them and move forward. Not only will you not be brought into their prison and held captive, you might help them see a way to escape by the way you conduct your life.

Thank you for this post. I love your blog and I hope it nurtures and brings hope to many people. it does to me.
