We forget how to just be silly, playful and enjoy the simple things.

rayraydSometimes I just sit here listening to music letting my wander where it wishes. Sometimes it comes up with some really good stuff other times its so random it makes little sense at all. Sometimes its just memories of my youth, other times its dreams of what I would like my future to be like. A lot of the times its just daydreams of things that are like a science fiction short story. No matter if I have an epiphany or if I am just day dreaming about a fantasy world it’s all good.

My imagination has been my best friend since I can remember and it is so nice to visit it from time to time. It is a nice escape from the stress and harshness of reality. Sometimes I think that is what is wrong with a lot of adults we forget how to use our imagination and how to just day-dream. We get so wrapped up in being grown up and responsible we forget how to be imaginative or playful in nature. It’s almost like singing, most of us went around singing aloud as children not worrying if we were in key or who heard. We enjoyed singing and by singing we found joy in our hearts. As we get older we forget how to just be silly, playful and enjoy the simple things.

We get so worried about what someone may think about us if we sung out loud or if we acted silly. We close off the child still within us and trade it off for stress and the illusion of being both adult and proper.

Let the child within you come out and play, be silly, daydream, sing and be playful.
